2. What are the hours of the cemetery?

All three cemeteries open at 8 a.m. and close at sundown.

5. What is the cost of a lot and what does the cost cover?

The cost of the lot only covers the right to bury someone in the space purchased and does not include the open/close of grave or the cost of the lining. Open and close, and cost of lining is an itemized charge handled through the chosen funeral home.

Danville Cemetery

• $1,200 for adult 40 inches by 9 foot spaces and 5 foot by 10 foot spaces in new sections
• $600 for cremation spaces
• $100 for infant spaces (at time of need only)

Kilgore City Cemetery

Contingent upon seller's price (Please note these lots are for sale by owner and not handled by the City of Kilgore.)

Kilgore Memorial Gardens Cemetery

• $1,575 for adult 5 foot by 10 foot spaces
• $800 for cremation spaces
• $100 for infant spaces (at time of need only)

6. Is there an installment plan to pay for lots?

There is no financing available for lots. All purchases of lots must be completed during the same day transaction.

7. Do I own this property at the cemetery?

No. Purchase of the lot only secures sepulture rights: a right to bury someone in the space purchased.

8. Is there a liner requirement?

Yes. A metal or cement lining is required in all three cemeteries.

9. Can I plant trees or do any minor landscaping in the cemetery?

No. Planting trees, shrubs or any minor landscaping at the cemetery is prohibited.

10. What are monument size requirements?

The base of the monument must not exceed the length of cemetery lot, which is approximately 5 feet.

11. What do I do if a grave has sunken?

12. Can I place a bench on the grave?
