The road is being widened to improve existing conditions and accommodate the additional traffic expected with the proposed Dairy Queen that will be built on the northeast corner of E. Lantrip St. and Henderson Boulevard.
Traffic will be detoured on to Thompson Street or Kay Street. Construction is expected to be complete by the end of March, 2020.
This project is being funded through a partnership with Hometown Restaurant Group, the developers for Dairy Queen.
“We are excited to see this project underway. When the City and developers partner to improve the City’s infrastructure, projects become financially viable and everybody wins, especially the citizens of Kilgore,” says Clay Evers, Director of Public Works.
Construction progress can be followed on the City’s website, www.cityofkilgore.com, under Current Projects in the Engineering Department. Questions or comments can be directed to the City’s Project Manager, Patricia White at 903-988-4133 or patricia.white@cityofkilgore.com.
