Missy Merritt is a third generation East Texan. Her family roots run deep in public service. Missy moved from Longview to Kilgore in 2004. She fell in love with Kilgore as a child and followed her instincts to make Kilgore her home. She is a strong supporter of law enforcement and public education. Missy is a fiscal conservative and possess a pro-business philosophy.
Following high school, Missy was a student at Kilgore College. After attending Kilgore College she went on to study Animal Science with Equine emphasis at Stephen F. Austin University, Nacogdoches, TX.
Missy has 25+ years experience in industrial maintenance/contracting, timber management, oil and gas, hospitality, event coordination, and public policy.
