During initial investigation Officers observed a counterfeit US Currency $20 lying on a passenger seat. The vehicle was searched and police recovered several counterfeit bills both fully and partially printed along with containers of spray paint, paint brushes, color ink cartridges, sheet paper, desk top computer, laptop computer, a color printer and a small amount of methamphetamine.

Demetrius Dirail Alex , 31 years of age, of Longview, Texas has been identified and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Deadly Conduct both Felonies. The charges stemmed from a shooting which occurred on Sunday, 02-28-2016 at the Stone Creek Apartments in Kilgore. A warrant has been issued for his arrest and Demetrius Alex is currently being sought by police.

Dean Kinney will be our special guest this week and he will read "The Cat in the Hat." We will have one story time session this week which will be, Wednesday, March 9th at 10 am.

Initial investigation revealed two parties began exchanging gunfire after a brief argument. After the exchange, one party fled the area and the other was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center by private vehicle prior to arrival of police. The injured party suffered multiple gunshot wounds and underwent emergency surgery. He is currently listed in critical but stable condition.

The classes will not only consist of classroom presentations but hands-on activities such as investigating a crime scene using modern forensic techniques, police firearms demo, firearms simulator, driving range and a Taser demo. Students also have the “option” to ride with a patrol officer and witness the street-activity our officers encounter on a day-to-day basis.

On Monday, December 21, 2015, at 5:32 A.M. Kilgore Patrol Officers responded to the Fillin’ Station Donut and Deli Cafe, 310 S. Higginbotham Rd., Kilgore, Texas due to an armed robbery. Up arrival an employee reported a black male wearing all black had robbed the business of an undisclosed amount of cash. During the robbery the suspect displayed a handgun. Before arrival of police the suspect fled in a vehicle which was described as a maroon “boxy” passenger car with a chrome grill. The vehicle was staged behind an adjacent building and was driven by a second suspect.
