Kilgore Police Arrest Man for Aggravated Assault with Knife

Upon arrival, Kilgore Police located Samuel Gipson, 22 years of age, of Kilgore, lying on the ground, suffering from two (2) stab wounds. Gipson was transported by ambulance to Good Shepherd Medical Center, Longview, Texas, where he underwent surgery. Witnesses identified Marcus Trevino Woods, 35 years of age, of Kilgore, as the person who stabbed Gipson after an argument at the Meadow green Apartment complex in Kilgore, Texas.

City Council approves Resolution 11-06 for possible annexation

At the City Council meeting held on March 22, 2011 the Council approved Resolution 11-06 was approved that directed the Director of Planning to prepare a service plan for consideration of annexation of property located on Stone Road east of the City Limits.  The resolution also sets two public hearing dates for anyone to come and give their input regarding the possible annexation.  Please see attached Resolution

Kilgore Police Investigate Fatality Motorcycle Crash

Upon arrival, police found a 2001 Victory Motorcycle crashed on the roadway. The operator of the motorcycle was identified as Danny Albert Nauman, 36 years of age, of Kilgore. Mr. Nauman had sustained serious injury and was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center (GSMC) in Longview, Texas via Champion EMS. Mr. Nauman later succumbed to his injuries and died.

Kilgore Police Response to Fire Exposes Meth Lab

After the hotel was evacuated and the fire extinguished within the room, the cause of the fire was soon discovered to be a methamphetamine lab. Approximately 4.1 grams of Methamphetamine was recovered from the room along with laboratory equipment and chemicals commonly used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. Further investigation revealed a large amount of counterfeiting equipment along with counterfeit checks, counterfeit money and forged identification in an adjacent room.
