On Tuesday, December 13, 2011, the Kilgore Police Department, Kilgore Fire Department and Kilgore Rescue will reprogram all communication radios in order to comply with a federal narrowbanding mandate. During this process it may be necessary to activate the Kilgore Emergency Warning Sirens. We want the public to be aware this is only a test. The activations will be preceded and concluded with a message informing everyone of the test. When you hear the Sirens on Tuesday do not be alarmed, remember, it is only a test.

Kilgore Police Give Big With Food Donations

There was no question how important the food drive was to all the officers and members of the Department. The Department demonstrated this when an entire trailer load of donated food was handed off to Helping Hands to distribute to families in need. While all members of the Department went above and beyond in collecting donations, Kilgore Police Patrol Day One Shift deserves a special mention for collecting the most donations.

No Welcome for Drug Traffickers in Kilgore

In May of 2011 the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) joined in the efforts of local law enforcement agencies, the Kilgore Police Department and the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office, to bring down a methamphetamine trafficking organization. The organization was responsible for the purchasing, selling and distribution of large quantities of crystal methamphetamine (ICE) in the Kilgore and Rusk County Areas.
