KPD Announces Start of Citizen Police Academy 2016

The classes will not only consist of classroom presentations but hands-on activities such as investigating a crime scene using modern forensic techniques, police firearms demo, firearms simulator, driving range and a Taser demo. Students also have the “option” to ride with a patrol officer and witness the street-activity our officers encounter on a day-to-day basis.

KPD Investigates Armed Robbery

December 21, 2015

On Monday, December 21, 2015, at 5:32 A.M. Kilgore Patrol Officers responded to the Fillin’ Station Donut and Deli Cafe, 310 S. Higginbotham Rd., Kilgore, Texas due to an armed robbery. Up arrival an employee reported a black male wearing all black had robbed the business of an undisclosed amount of cash. During the robbery the suspect displayed a handgun. Before arrival of police the suspect fled in a vehicle which was described as a maroon “boxy” passenger car with a chrome grill. The vehicle was staged behind an adjacent building and was driven by a second suspect.
