Street Sweeping Policy

The Street Sweeping program is part of the Street Departments Right-of-Way Division and has one street sweeper with one full time operator.  Each quadrant is swept twice per year with the downtown area being swept monthly.

Public Works Department

The Public Works Department is the consolidation of several departments into one which includes Streets, Equipment Services, Utilities (which includes both a water and wastewater treatment plant), and Engineering.  The Public Works Department consists of approximately 45 employees.  The Director of Public Works directs the department through effective planning, staff management, and resource allocation; and assures the effective completion of projects and compliance with state and Federal regulations, City policies, procedures and goals.
