Mosquito spraying to begin next week

The City of Kilgore is set to begin mosquito spraying as early as end week (weather permitting).  The mosquito control truck will begin on the southern portion of the City and  will head north until all areas are sprayed.  It will take approximately 10 days to cover the entire area of Kilgore.  Spraying will take place in the late evening.  The spray is a chrysanthemum based pyrethroid mixed with mineral oil. It is classified as nonhazardous and only affects adult mosquitoes and bees. Once the intitial spraying of the City is complete follow up locations and regular spraying will begin.
